Darver Castle wedding photography, Oran & Ruth

Darver Castle is stunning whatever the weather, however this venue comes into its own when the sun is shining. There was plenty of sunshine for Oran and Ruth, almost too much for myself and Niall, who was on video duty, as we struggled on through the heat!
Morning prep was a lot of fun with these guys, including a champagne spray which we almost missed due to Ruth’s speed with opening a bottle! Plenty of mini fans on the go to keep the girls cool in the heat during hair and make up.
Getting to Darver castle was a little tricky due to the Balmoral show, but everyone arrived safely, but a little late due to some wrong turns along the way. The Chapel was right next to a wheat field, which proved to be the perfect opportunity for some fun pics in the field, keeping one eye out for the farmer just incase! Darver castle was just a stones throw away from the chapel, so we were glad not to have to drive much further and to get to the reception for a nice cold drink!
The blazing sun meant we had to go to the back of the venue for the family group portraits, there’s nothing worse than having the sun directly in the eyes or above as the shadows created & squinty eyes ruin the images. But this was a nice chance to get everyone out for some fresh air and away from the the bar for 15 mins.
We had a great day with all the amazing bridal party, family, guests and vendors – working on days like this really does make me realise how much I love this job.
